Al Futaisi Island

[edit]

This someone is not just someone. He is a big man, a royal family member or something. And he has his own wikipedia page I believe.175.103.25.137 (talk) 10:20, 16 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

See also the mention in the Al Futaisi article and in search results here. I don't believe that this person currently reaches the inclusion threshold for mention in this WP:disambiguation page. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 12:23, 16 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yup. this pertains to this edit by the IP, adding the island owned by the person in question. I initially removed it but then restored it, moved it to a more appropriate place in the list, and rewrote it to clarify why it was being listed [1]. As I said in my edit summary, "No objection ftom me if anyone thinks this still does not belong" Someone having dug huge trench to spell their name is a weak reason to include. It doesn't seem to me that this meets WP:GNG. I delete articles from time to time, but I'm generally very soft on MW:Deletionism. That article isn't a complete WP:orphan, but it's close and is linked from other articles where the notability status is questionable. I wouldn't object if a deletionist came along and axed it, but perhaps it should be WP:PRODed; that would probably lead either to deletion or to a talk page discussion working towards consensus about whether to delete it, defer deletion, or open a WP:AFD discussion. I was thinking the same. The article about the island is just an excuse to mention the Sheikh's grandiose (and failed) exercise in self-publicity. Meters (talk) 01:50, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Well, even though the thing has failed, I guess it is still okay to stay.175.103.25.137 (talk) 11:29, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
