More information

[edit]

Okay, so, while the findagrave source listed before does indeed say 1865-1965, this seems inconsistent with the information on here (and other sources) that say he was granted the patent in 1969 (or in a few sources, 1967), and *then* became a manufacturer. (I found one source talking about Allen granting licenses to manufacture, unfortunately, it's totally OR to say that means he was alive after 1969, even if it's obviously so. Unfortunately, the fact that my dad took some photographs for an archery magazine of Allen and his wife, probably in the late 70s or so, are also OR.) Anyway, that's why I've removed the listed DOB/DOD there - it seems completely inconsistent. umrguy42 22:07, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

lack of sources

[edit]

Came across Holless Wilbur Allen while reading up on history of the compound bow article, seems like an interesting guy, I figured I'd try and fill out the article with some citations but as far as reliable sources go, its pretty scarce, I know we can quote books and magazines, I'll try to do some more research, maybe at the library or something. --EliteArcher88 (talk) 21:39, 12 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
