Original research

[edit]

This (Douglas's intensification into a hurricane marked the fourth-latest formation of the first hurricane in a Pacific hurricane season, tied with Hurricane Celia in the 2004 Pacific hurricane season.) is WP:OR, and I have removed it. 🐔 Chicdat ChickenDatabase 11:06, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Chicdat: The first part isn't OR... The NHC flat out stated the first half here. NoahTalk 16:43, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This storm did minimal damage and claimed 0 lives. It had little impacts on Hawaii. I say we merge this article. --67.85.37.186 (talk) 19:35, 6 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Those two aren't arguments to merge an article. YE Pacific Hurricane 23:47, 6 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@YellowEven: they are. The storm doesn’t need an article because of those low impacts. 67.85.37.186 (talk) 01:28, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
So by that logic, every fishspinner should have its article merged regardless of intensity (or more importantly how much information it has)? YE Pacific Hurricane 14:32, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose was the first eastern Pacific hurricane to directly impact Hawaii, with it's southern eyewall. BTW, Hurricane Douglas is not Hurricane Lane. SMB99thx my edits 10:14, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose per SMB and YE. 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 10:24, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Yellow Evan, Chicdat, and SMB99thx: this storm may have caused category 1-like effects 9 Hawaii, but that's not notable. Yes, it may have been the first eastern Pacific hurricane to directly impact Hawaii, but that's not notable. The article is 18,712 bytes. It can easily fit in with the pacific hurricane center. As for SMB's point, this would warrent an article for Tropical Storm Vicky, as it was the first CV seed to claim a life. --67.85.37.186 (talk) 18:34, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
we should likely close discussion as merge failed. 67.85.37.186 (talk) 02:07, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
