Contradiction

[edit]

This article contradicts another article:

This article
The rock derives its name from the fact that it lies directly along the route of the Emigrant Trail and that emigrant wagon parties bound for Oregon or California, which usually left the Missouri River in the early spring, attempted to reach the rock by July 4 (Independence Day in the United States)
Sweetwater River (Wyoming)
On July 4, 1824, they cached their furs under a dome of rock they named Independence Rock and started their long trek on foot to the Missouri River via the Sweetwater, North Platte and Platte River valleys

Apparently the furs explanation is correct: http://wyoshpo.state.wy.us/trailsdemo/independencerock256k.htm. Would you make the appropriate changes? Runner1928 (talk) 16:41, 15 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
