As it occurred to me that I didn't mention this here previously, I was a student at University at the same time as one of Raley's sons, though I've only met John Raley briefly once when the son graduated from uni. The son and I know eachother decently well and had suggested to me that there should be enough coverage of his father to warrant an article on wikipedia. After looking into it further I decided personally that John Raley is notable enough given the national media attention surrounding the Overton and Morton cases and the awards and media coverage he has received personally for both cases (though definitely more tending towards the latter case as I've come to realize)

The only part of this article that came from Raley's son himself was his relation to John Wesley Raley. Verification can be found here https://www.okbu.edu/news/2012/08/raley-to-receive-honorary-doctorate.html however I understand that a university press release on the subject is a primary source and currently this part of the article violates WP:NOR. I may remove that piece of the article if I can't find any other mention asides fromJohn Wesley Raley's wikipedia page, which is pretty poorly sourced itself.
