An email to me from User:CesarDominguez:

Dear Elektrik Blue 82; I always enjoy of Wikipedia excellent information for a wide range of topics and matters. I want to add a nice and helpful Photo Gallery of the Jorge Chavez Intl Airport here in Lima-Peru (South America). I just want to be of some help for travelers planning to come and visit my dear country: I shot the digital pictures by myself and I'm going to add a video clip of the facilities very soon too! I work for the Tourist Information Office here in Lima and my only aim is to be of some help: Many of the travelers F.A.Q. are if the waiting area for international arrivals is safe or where could they find their tour conductor or chauffer, if the ATM's are safely located. They also need to know where the "Check In" counters are or how safe it's to exchange money!

Most of the international flights arrive late midnight and the Photo Gallery I designed and prepared with much dedication and caring portrays how the Jorge Chavez Intl Airport actually looks! I'm aware you removed my link because you think it's a commercial site or a spam.....however the different airline sites listed in the same page are actually big bussiness websites selling flight tickets! I also find the same kind of big bussiness external links when I'm looking for some information about my country Peru. and I'm redirect to Travel Agencies or companies selling DVDs and CDs about Peru! I do not sell anything: Just provide travel information about Peru and these pictures and information are going to be greatly appreciated by Wikipedia users planning to come and visit South America! Looking forward to hear back from you very soon with a positive solution please! I really hope you could also have a chance to come and pay a visit to the Wonderful Land of the Incas! Kind Regards

Cesar Dominguez

Cesar, please read WP:EL. We try to maintain NPOV here in Wikipedia, hence the reversion. Please go thru the official policy. Thanks. Elektrik Blue 82 21:17, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lim page

[edit]

Am I the only one who thinks that Lim should not redirect to Jorge Chávez International Airport? Not everybody who is looking for Lim is looking for the airport code LIM. I agree that of the eight things listed on the old Lim page, the airport is (probably) the most important. However, if you add (conceptually) the "importance" of the seven other things, they outweigh the airport by far. In other words, I think Lim should be what used to be at Lim, a disambiguation page: [1]. ~a (usertalkcontribs) 20:45, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes you are the only one who thinks that. For example ORD redirects to the O'Hare International Airport even though on the disambugation page there are twelve different pages linking to different people, places, and even rivers, just like the Lim river. Anyways the airport is by far more important than the other things there. It is one of the largest airports in Latin America and serves a a very large transfer point as TACA and LAN two of the largest airlines in Latin America have hubs there.

I made it parallel to ORD. LIM redirects to the airport, Lim redirects to the disambiguation page. Same thing for ORD which redirects to the airport, but Ord redirects to the disambiguation page. Elektrik Blue 82 21:08, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I like it this way. ~a (usertalkcontribs) 21:39, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Airlines

[edit]

Does somebody maybe know something about:

I read on a forum that Air Perú was not active yet in February of this year, although they would start operations in 2007. Its website does not work, so I am wondering if Air Perú does operate any regular passenger flights from Lima to the United States or not... Belgian man (talk) 18:00, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Empresasenperu.blogspot.com writes that Transportes Aéreos Cielos Andinos will start operations to Andahuaylas only on July 9th, our Spanish colleagues write that the airline does operate the route between Lima and Andahuaylas yet, and El Comercio claims:

La empresa Cielos Andinos aprovechó que Trujillo ha quedado desabastecido (solo opera LAN Perú) y abrió ayer su primer vuelo a esa ciudad.

I have not found any website of the company. Belgian man (talk) 18:00, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Because nobody seems to be able to help in this case, I will add TACA with the destinations of Andahuaylas and Trujillo. Belgian man (talk) 11:57, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In the same El Comercio article, the newspaper sais:

LC Busre planea abrir dos rutas hacia Chachapoyas y Chimbote, pero aún no define la fecha exacta en la que empezarán estos vuelos.

Anonymous claims that "they haven't officially announced the new routes", but why should we not mention them if a newspaper wrote about it? Belgian man (talk) 18:00, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Because nobody seems to be able to help in this case, I will add the destinations of Chachapoyas and Chimbote to the LC Busre destination listing. Belgian man (talk) 11:58, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New layout airlines and destinations list

[edit]

This new layout is not yet the standard here (please have a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Airports/page content), and is ugly as well. I propose not to use this already. Greetings, Belgian man (talk) 14:38, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Translation in french

[edit]

The page did not exist in French so I started its translation. Any help is greatly appreciated ! Nairolf FR (talk) 22:08, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

TACA/Avianca

[edit]

Someone explain to me why Avianca is labelled the way it is? TACA & Avianca are operating with their own branding. I was in Peru in May and flew TACA to Cusco and back. TACA planes, TACA boarding passes, TACA nametags. But no TACA in the article. --WestJet (talk) 06:40, 11 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am wondering if the distance from the Jorge Chávez airport to Lima downtown is correct on this site. Having searched the net I have found several variations to this; everything from 10km, 12km, 14km and 16km. Can somebody clarify this please?
