This Article has Problems

[edit]

This article has serious problems, not the least of which is that it has little to nothing to do with Layne Morris, and appears to suffer from the fact that it lacks a neutral point of view on a living person.

I would suggest getting rid of the acts of war argument, which is irrelevant and unsourced, and simply state that he and the Estate of Speer brought suit and won a judgment by default. Other changes would include that this article be generally cleaned up to provide a neutral point of view.Yachtsman1 (talk) 06:38, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Would it be possible for you to be specific about which passage(s) you believe do not comply with the neutrality policy? Can you offer a civil explanation as to why you don't think that passage(s).
The acts of war argument is not unsourced. It references articles which were online at the time they were inserted, and are now no longer online. References don't have to be online in order to remain WP:RS. Geo Swan (talk) 13:53, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much. The story delves into "Acts of War", which is irrelevant to the subject. This section does, however, have a section on the lawsuit, which is relevant, because the Defendant was named in the top of the article. The remaining issues, regarding what was said at the Commission, is equally irrelevant to the subject, because he was not present. The technical term for this is "content forking". WP:CFORK Naming the person accused of the act, with a tag for a quick double click, should suffice to bring this story back into compliance with Wikipedia policies as to biographies of living persons. WP:BLP. As it stands, however, it does not comply with the rules established by Wikipedia in that regard. In other words, keep the sujects separate, Geo Swan. You are using one person's biography to tell another person's story.Yachtsman1 (talk) 23:24, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Update needed

[edit]

Morris and Tabitha Speer initiated a second civil suit, a few years ago.

In the first suit they asserted that Ahmed Said Khadr bore all responsibility, and Omar no responsibility, since Omar was just a minor. In the second suit they took the diametrically opposite position -- Omar's youth was irrelevant. Geo Swan (talk) 01:06, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
