Sophie (TV series) is not an ABC Family original series. It should be moved to a more appropriate section. NorthernThunder (talk) 07:58, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Step by Step

[edit]

why is this show still airing? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.127.178.158 (talk) 21:24, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cause they have own the rights to it since 2000 and it doesn't look like they are going to let the contract expire 75.8.91.25 (talk) 00:22, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article organization

[edit]

I think this article should be re-organized in alphabetical order to prevent the recurring vandalism and also to make the list more efficient, while indicating original programming with and asterisk. 216.70.26.237 (talk) 01:06, 26 May 2008 (UTC)53180.[reply]

umm you need to put the time they were aired to, other wise this way is a less help than the last. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.130.137.54 (talk) 18:12, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Airdates add uneccessary clutter and can be found on each individual program article. 53180 (talk) 01:48, 1 June 2008 (UTC)53180.[reply]

Family Matters ?

[edit]

Around March 2008 ABC Family's license to run the show expired and it was picked up by Nick at Nite on June 29,2009.And ABC Family's current line-up doesn't include Family Matters Matthew Cantrell (talk) 10:38, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Updating LIneup for March 2009

[edit]

I updated the box schedule with new shows and lineup for this coming March, notably Monday, Tuesday, and Friday nights. For shows that have not yet premiered, I included their premiere date and cited it to reliable sources. In the spirit of full disclosure, my employer works for ABC Family and I'd to help improve articles on the subject where I have good information and know where sources can be found. If you have any questions, get me on my talk page. Thanks! Carolina Bluebird (talk) 20:23, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

TDI

[edit]

Is this a joke since when did ABC Family buy Cartoon Network's rights to Total Drama Island? currently Cartoon Network has the rights Matthew Cantrell (talk) 18:32, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Future Programs

[edit]

What evidence do we have for these

According to my friend who is like a TV buff Seinfeld is going to ABC Family and in exchange TBS will get Step By Step Matthew Cantrell (talk) 20:44, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List of programs broadcast by FreeformList of Freeform original programming – per Talk:List of HBO original programming#Requested move 13 June 2020. St3095 (?) 14:09, 22 June 2020 (UTC)Relisting. Mdaniels5757 (talk) 18:13, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per previous discussion. --Gonnym (talk) 19:14, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment – I'm not inclined to support this move if it means that something like Higher Ground (TV series) would be removed from this list. IOW, like a lot of cable TV channels, not all of the "new" shows they air are "originals" to the network itself. So these lists should not have their WP:SCOPEs changed such that what you might call "original acquisitions" can no longer be listed. --IJBall (contribstalk) 20:49, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per previous discussion. -- Wikipedical (talk) 16:26, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Relisting comment This discussion leaves unaddressed questions that should be discussed here before any move of this page. 1) Would this change the scope of the list? and 2) If yes, is there a consensus for that? Pinging previous participants: @St3095, Gonnym, IJBall, and Wikipedical. --Mdaniels5757 (talk) 18:13, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • To answer your question, it would change, and I'm in support of it. To address IJBall's concern, according to Higher Ground (TV series), the original network was Fox Family Channel which means it is a valid entry at List of programs broadcast by Freeform#Fox Family era (1998–2001), which it is placed. --Gonnym (talk) 18:28, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
      • And I stand by what I said – if moving these means that what I would call "original acquisitions" are deemed "out-of-scope" then I oppose the moves and oppose the changes in WP:SCOPE. P.S. And, no, I don't think it does address my point about Higher Ground (TV series) – while it did air on Fox Family, I don't believe it was a "Fox Family original series" (it certainly wasn't "branded" as such, IIRC). --IJBall (contribstalk) 18:33, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
        • I would be fine if syndicated information is removed entirely. All unsourced and not particularly notable. -- Wikipedical (talk) 18:35, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
          • That's not even remotely what we're talking about. Sci-Fi/Syfy is a good example of what I mean – they've broadcast a number of "original acquisitions" (sometimes co-productions, sometimes not) which were not branded as "Sci-Fi/Syfy original series". Those should all still be listed. So, I'll reiterate again – if moving these lists means shows like Higher Ground are no longer listed, I flat up oppose the move/change. --IJBall (contribstalk) 19:50, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
            • You are not really listening to the answers you got. Again, the article Higher Ground says it first aired on Fox Family, which means it belongs in original programming. If you have an issue with a different example, then give it, don't beat around the bush. --Gonnym (talk) 19:56, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
              • And you're not listening – it wasn't branded as a "Fox Family original" AFAICT. Changing the title of the list as proposed implies it wouldn't be covered. And, again, all of these cable TV nets have similar programs that were not branded as "[channel] originals" (often because they were acquisitions from other countries, or because they aired simultaneously in another country aside from the U.S.) but should still be listed. I'm going to oppose these moves until somebody explains how these programs will continue to be included (and how) if the WP:SCOPEs are changed with the title change. --IJBall (contribstalk) 20:13, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Mdaniels5757- my answer are: 1) yes, the channel will be moved; 2) there's a consensus (or not), but it usually has many original programs. St3095 (?) 02:05, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. I oppose changing the scope of these list pages to remove the non-original programming, as it has been a significant part of the channel's programming (as if we are censoring this historical record on a part of their programming). This is especially true when Freeform (TV channel) § Programming currently begins by saying that Freeform "offers a slate of mostly reruns of contemporary comedy series and animated sitcom series".
