In the late 1960's at Kempsey, New South Wales, Australia, a train collided with a school bus on a level crossing. Five schoolchildren were killed, one of whom was Patricia (Trixie) Ramsay, aged about 16 years. Several more were injured. I cannot find any mention of this accident on the web, neither does it seem to be recorded in any NSW Rail inquiries or court hearings. Is there anyone who can verify the date and maybe some of the names of others who so tragically lost their lives, also the circumstances of this collision. Alternatively, if anyone knows of records of which I am unaware, please let me know. I would wish that the young people could be remembered via this page.114.77.243.181 (talk) 01:34, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There's a brief mention on the front page of The Age dated December 10, 1968. Google News Archive --Cavrdg (talk) 11:00, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress

[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:List of rail accidents by country which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 20:01, 19 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

4-digit years in ranges

[edit]

WP:MOSNUM#Ranges was changed almost two years ago so that forms like 1930–49 are supposed to be changed to 1930–1949. Personally I hate this verbosity, but it's a WP standard (with a few exceptions that don't apply here), so we should conform. Which means that almost all of the individual decade list articles need to be moved, and the body of this base article, and any templates that link to the individual lists. --69.159.62.113 (talk) 20:04, 21 March 2018 (UTC), clarified 20:54, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Criteria for inclusion?

[edit]

What is the criteria for an accident to be included in this list? The ones listed mostly involve passenger trains with injuries (or fatalities). I'm asking because I was considering adding the 1953 Burlingame, CA accident described here - https://www.sfchronicle.com/chronicle_vault/article/Train-derails-causing-big-delays-but-little-13139290.php Kevink707 (talk) 18:30, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
