LWT

[edit]

I wonder if anyone at ITV realised the priceless advantage they threw away when they killed off regional branding like London Weekend Television in 2002? PMA 14:20, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Very good point PMA. LWT were the company that allowed Carlton to broadcast by kindly leasing them space. LWT were the company that provided the overnight service. LWT took on as ITV's main venue in 2002. LWT started LNN which continued until recently. LWT's studios are now ITV's headquarters. What does LWT get in return? It's name gets axed altogether and becomes ITV London. Since 2002, LWT has not been in existence. Marbles333 16:08, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The regionality of ITV was its' unique selling point IMO. It created great loyalty: To this day people where I live still refer to ITV as YTV. I recall visiting friends of my parents in East Sussex in the mid-90's who received ITV programming from Meridian but who referred to ITV as Southern, although for eleven years TVS had provided coverage between the two. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.252.225.225 (talk) 22:37, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Big anon edit

[edit]

I'm always suspicious of large additions by anons: what do we think of this [1]? A cursory Google search has produced fruit, but I'm still unsure... The JPStalk to me 16:06, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Lw79.gif

[edit]

Image:Lw79.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Editing to reflect no longer the franchise holder.

[edit]

As ITV Broadcasting now holds all England/Wales franchises, this Wikipedia entry (and the other ITV plc region entries) should be edited to reflect this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sslaxx (talkcontribs) 17:20, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Programmes

[edit]

This section is to hold list of TV show made by LWT, mainly regional and PBS type show. More will be added over time, then will be added to the main page.
