Fair use rationale for Image:Maariv.png

[edit]

Image:Maariv.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:09, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mike Dean is just a crap Referee - that DOES NOT make him an anti-semite.

[edit]

In today's (25-Sep-07) Guardian newspaper in the UK it is reported that an Israeli junior football coach, Gady Carmelli - a friend of new Chelsea 'coach' Avram Grant, derides an English referee as being an anti-semite, because he make some truly shocking decissions against a side coached by an Israeli Jew. GROW UP Gady and get over yourself.

Mike Dean is a very questionable referee - for sure - there are loads of English football fans who would gladly confirm this for you. That does not make him anti-semitic. Calling him such is a negative move for the caller for so many reasons. By calling everyone who does or says anything in opposition to either Israel, Israelis or individual Jews or the Jewish people an anti-semite is pathetic, wrong and counter productive. It lessens the fight against true anti-semites - it is crying wolf and sooner or later the rest of the world will switch off and stop caring.

Such high and damning insults should be reserved for those who truly deserve it - not used against haplessly un-talented football officials.

Maariv. The Meaning of the Title

[edit]

Maariv in Hebrew is also the name for evening breeze from sea. The Maariv was established as evening paper. So the freshness in evening rather than prayer coined the name for tabloid. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.76.37.180 (talk) 07:50, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

acronym NRG

[edit]

what does the acronym NRG stands for? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 145.242.11.3 (talk) 13:50, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I doubt it is an acronym at all. Just some 'cool' English term to give the site more 'foreign' credibility. --Shuki (talk) 23:28, 5 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
i mean it could be something like : Network Resource Group or something like that.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Djampa (talkcontribs) 13:05, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge of Israel Post into Maariv (newspaper)

[edit]

Israel Post merged into Maariv. NOTE: This is not an AfD! Hence the discussion is ONLY about the organization of information. Notability is presumed and NOT an argument. Sorry I have to explain this... So many Wikipedians use the AfD these days for mergers, where N is relevant. This seems to impact real merge discussions... gidonb (talk) 23:23, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I can see, neither of these articles contains the information needed for this proposal to be assessed. Please provide more rationale. Zerotalk 03:10, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Closing, given the consensus not to merge. Klbrain (talk) 18:38, 29 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
