I'd love to review this one! I love Doctor Who! Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 21:53, 16 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • My main issue with this article is the prose; see below. I also wonder if you could add any more images; currently you only have three, one in the infobox. Perhaps you can add images of some of the cast or crew, or of Khan, since you include an image of Polo.

Lead

  • Lucarotti had previously written works based on Marco Polo's adventures, and was suggested by Doctor Who creator Sydney Newman when the show was early in development. Awkward wording. It's unclear what "was suggested"; if it's using Polo's adventures in Doctor Who, how about: "Doctor Who creator Sydney Newman suggested, while the show was early in development, that Lucarotti adapt his previously written works based on Marco Polo's adventures on Doctor Who."

Plot

  • Susan gets the key from Ping-Cho... What key? I know it's obvious to us Doctor Who fans, but I think you should state that Susan gets the TARDIS key.

Production
Conception and writing

  • John Crockett directed the fourth episode in Hussein's absence. Why was Hussein absent?
  • ...for research of the old designs. "Old designs" is unclear. What were they designs of? If you mean that the designs were based upon older architectural styles like the ones they used in the 13th century, please state that.
  • Newbery also found that Korean architecture from 1900 was similar to the period. Similar issue; please state clearly that you're talking about the 13th century.

Casting and characters

  • Who ended up doing the narration? If it was Polo, please say so.
  • Should you avoid using the word "oriental"? I know that was the standard use of the time, so if you do, put it in quotes.
  • Why didn't Hussein not want an actress from the two plays? Did he want an unknown?
  • Please tell us who William Russell and Carole Ann Ford were, and their roles.

References

  • You only use four refs, and one (Ainsworth) is used for the majority of them. I'll AGF and chalk that up to a lack of sources about this topic. I also can't verify how you use Ainsworth, so I'm AGF with this, too.

Nice job. Take care of the few things I've listed, and you're good to go. Can't wait for the new season and the new Doctor! ;) Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 22:20, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the review, Figureskatingfan! I've gone through and addressed most of your concerns. Most serial articles use two or three images, and I feel that any extra here would bloat the page, so I've left it. As for Hussein's absence, there is no explanation that has been given. Let me know if you have any more issues. – Rhain 03:12, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Looking good. I get it about the standard practice about images in serial articles. Congrats! Keep up the good work on these articles. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk)
