[edit]His best role was as Packy Harrison in the 1967 movie “In the heat of the night” He plays the part of an unemployed man in Sparta Mississippi (the town is fictitious). He is falsely accused of murder. The movie starred Sidney Poitier as a ne policeman that gets caught up in a murder investigation in the town.
