Robot Masters

[edit]

I've started a discussion about including Robot Masters in Mega Man articles at the Video Game project talk page. If you have an opinion, please remark here. Lumaga (talk) 06:27, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Audio section removal

[edit]

I removed the tracklist for the so-called "original soundtrack" because there was never an original soundtrack released for this game. The only music officially released for this game is the "Capcom Music Generation Famicom Music Complete Works Rockman 1~6" released by Capcom on the Suleputer label, and the names here didn't even correspond with the names listed there.

The track names aren't anything you couldn't guess just by listening to the track, so rather than pretend there has been a special release for this game's music, I think it's best just to remove the listing entirely. This also ended up removing the audio section entirely.

Quality assessment

[edit]

Gabriel Yuji (talk · contribs) has placed an assessment request for this article, but hasn't asked for a specific an article class. I'm concluding the article as C-Class, borderline B-Class. Here's a few things holding it back from B-Class:

  • "The game introduces a new character, Beat, which the player can use as a weapon once a series of eight collectable letters are found."
The word choice of which is confusing -- is Beat a weapon or a character?
  • "The fictional storyline of Mega Man 5 takes place during the 21st century (the year 20XX), about two months after the events of Mega Man 4, when the mad scientist Dr. Wily once again attempted to take over the world.[1]"
Lose "the fictional storyline of". The sentence needs to be rearranged as it is currently fragmented between introducing the reader to when the game takes place to what happened at the end of Mega Man 4.
  • "However, a second Proto Man arrives in the nick of time"
"In the nick of time" is an WP:IDIOM.
  • No need to wikilink Mega Man again in Gameplay.
  • " to run, jump, and shoot one's way"
Shoot his way?
  • "it turns all enemies on screen into extra 1-ups for you to collect."
1-ups is jargon for the non-gamer. Also fix "you".
  • "Some of the level designs in Mega Man 5 are unique up to this point in the series."
This sentence needs to be rewritten. Try something like "Some of the level designs in Megan Man 5 are unique from earlier games in the series".
  • No comma needed between "collectible, circuit"
  • "robot, bird friend". Same issue. Can you think of a more articulate way to describe what Beat is?
  • " Artist Keiji Inafune, credited as "Inafking", who had major involvement in the development in all prior Mega Man games, worked under a new project leader for Mega Man 5."
Fragmented sentence.
  • "He did this in order to avoid making an what"
Remove "an".
  • "Hayato Kaji, who worked diligently on the fourth installment of the series and the man behind the concept of the chargeable Mega Buster, was called in to help out during the middle of Mega Man 5's development. "
Fragmented sentence.
  • "but he admitted having trouble with some of the designs, balance, and colors.[1]"
Of what?
  • First paragraph of Reception is very vague. Rather than having a one-sentence summary of the positively-met aspects of the game supported by ten citations, you could go into a little more depth and get two or three sentences out of it. You've only got one positive quote from a reviewer, but I'd suggest including a couple more.
  • "1UP.com's Jeremy Parish painted"
Bad word choice. Summarised, concluded, considered etc. would work better.

Pass for C-Class. If you can get everything on the list done, I'll pass it as B-Class. CR4ZE (t) 13:44, 31 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As the comments from my review have been addressed I am enhancing the article's quality to B-Class. CR4ZE (t) 06:29, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
