Logo replacement

[edit]

I don't understand the rationale for replacing File:Melissa Harris-Perry Show logo 2012.png this Title text only image as being the representative logo for this TV Program. The way this network brands its TV program (as do other networks) is with the Host's likeness. It has been accepted practice for other Shows. Consider

As for what MSNBC does with their branding, consider this page http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3096434/ Every show has a likeness of the host, every blog has it, and so on. To put on a title card is hardly the logo that people use to identify the show. They may not know the name of these talking heads, but they remember the face. WP is supposed to illuminate, not obfuscate.

It seems to me that if a no Host likeness image is correct WP practice, then all the above articles should be changed too. J JMesserly (talk) 08:21, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
