Percussion Discussion

[edit]

The sentence 'Just two men playing two instruments that are very rarely found on the stand alone' is somewhat misleading, since the track includes one of Mingus' most obvious and explicit experiments in overdubbing. Hopefully someone with more time available than I have at the moment could correct this. New York, Fall 1974 (talk) 15:12, 21 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of "The music" section

[edit]

174.197.209.170 removed the unreferenced section and was advised by Paradise Chronicle to discuss on the talk page. A quick look and I tend to agree with the IP user, the whole section sounds like original research with no references to back it up. (Correction, there is one reference provided in the section but it just confirms that a song was used again.) Greyjoy talk 11:41, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well as to me it seems uncontroversial content, which mainly describes how the musicians play. You can add a citation needed tag instead of removing it. It seems there are good sources available concerning Mingus at the Bohemia if I read the sources section in the article.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 12:18, 3 September 2020 (UTC)#[reply]
Per WP:UNSOURCED:
Any material lacking a reliable source directly supporting it may be removed and should not be restored without an inline citation to a reliable source.
The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material [its emphasis] Cambial Yellowing 12:33, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I am going to go ahead and remove the section as it is a primarily unsourced opinion/review, if you want to add it back with reliable sources you are welcome to. Greyjoy talk 05:11, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
