Initial comment

[edit]

You were right, it goes from N-terminus to C-terminus.

Proposed move

[edit]

I'm suggesting to move this page to N-terminus. The reason for this is that N-terminus is the preferred term in textbooks and scientific literature. I did a PubMed search and came up with the following hits for N-terminus and its variations:

  • N-terminus: 16,128 hits
  • N-terminal domain: 6,194 hits
  • Amino-terminus: 6,167 hits
  • NH2-terminus: 1,875 hits
  • N-terminal end: 1,016 hits
  • N-terminal tail: 309 hits
  • Amine-terminus: 21 hits

This article has been renamed from N-terminal end to N-terminus as the result of a move request. --Stemonitis 07:41, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Zip Codes?

[edit]

I'm not sure I like the reference to zip codes. Do you think we could remove that, or at least find a better analogy? Abergabe (talk) 15:48, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

N-Terminus versus 5' and 3' ends of mRNA?

[edit]

Could someone please add an authoritative statement regarding how the N-Terminus does or does not correspond to 5-prime and 3-prime ends of the mRNA? Gwideman (talk) 23:43, 28 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
