Late 80s Nickelodeon

[edit]

I remember suffering through David the Gnome and Maya the bee (both bleah!) so I could watch this. I was so enchanted by this show for the longest time, I even remember the last episode where the Earth and The Orbish Koala-wala land dimension split apart. Made me sad. And some people may gripe about the bad dubbing, but that was part of this shows charm. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.7.47.170 (talkcontribs) 08:26, 12 March 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Bleah? Eh, I wasn't a huge fan of the first, but Maya the bee was BRILLIANT. I really liked Noozles too, though...although that last episode was a tear-jerker. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 134.124.62.200 (talkcontribs) 01:53, 19 March 2006 (UTC).[reply]

I had forgotten what this show was called, for the longest time I had this fuzzy memory of a magic koala bear show, and of a little pink bear who would draw a door to another dimension with her little magic compact, then I found a page on Whateverdude.com that reminded me what the show was called, [1] and i smacked my finger against the screen just like the page said, and declared "THAT'S WHAT IT WAS CALLED!", just like he says.

This really needs, i said *NEEDS* to be released on DVD, I don't even care if they remaster it or anything, just digitize and dump to MPEG-2 (DVD). I should scrounge up a VCR and then buy all the noozles tapes from amazon and disappear into my apartment for a month. whee!

The same goes for the Absolute Genius Pinwheel that aired all through the 80s, I miss pinwheel so much :( pinwheel (in it's original four hour block format) on DVD.

Some may complain about the bittersweet, almost melancholy ending that this series had, it's syrupy surface hides much more complex inner workings.

Buena Vista Apparently owns the rights to the Noozles

[edit]

Call them @ 1-800-477-2811 and request that this unbelievably awesome show be released on DVD. do it! DO IT!!! gotta press the zero key repeatedly to talk to the operator (to bypass the automated menus) and DEMAND that this show be re-released! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.7.58.222 (talkcontribs) 00:38, 1 April 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Edit: They did actually call me back (spoke with a woman named "Debbie") and stated that "yes, this is something that has been acquired, but there are currently no plans for a release of this material". So again everyone needs to call them and worry them to death until they give in and put this rawkzoring show on the DVD!!11111

Japanese Version Intro

[edit]

someone who can speak and read Japanese and English, click http://www.retrojunk.com/details_tvshows/179-the-noozles/1163/#intro and download the Japanese version intro and post the translated credits here. It needs a Windows Machine that can play .wmv files. I'm asking for this because you really can't get more authoritative data on an Americanized Anime than to have a look at the Japanese original.

Here is my translation (the "hehehe" is supposed to be the sound of giggling or chuckling, and the song uses some awkward borrowed English, which I will put in quotes, and I had to change "knocks with a thump" to "thumps"):
"Mysterious, Hehe"
Hey, I think it's mysterious hehehe...
If our minds [lit. feelings] meet, "Mysterious Telepathy"
Surprising Shocking
My life turned upside down, I'm becoming an adult!
My deep red heart thumps
How about waking up now, my sweetheart? (boy, that sounds uncomfortable for a children's song, the original Japanese reads like a very subservient girl asking her sweetheart "How would you like waking up now, master?" The language used is like that of a subservient spoken to the master/boss)
I still can't stop the throbbing! [that is, the throbbing of her heart, not something else, despite the preceding line]
Please take me to an unfamiliar world
A soft breeze washes away my tears
The sadness is "Goodbye Memory"
Surprising Shocking
My life turned upside down, I'm becoming an adult! KyleGoetz 04:52, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I like the way it says "Copyright Nippon Animation 1984" right on the title screen. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.7.47.192 (talkcontribs) 19:18, 21 May 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Also, an Episode list is available on many Japanese sites by searching for the Japanese string at the top of the article. Someone needs to translate it and post the list here.

The episode titles are not the ones used in the US, so I'm going to fix those and provide notation for which are translations, and which are actual US episode titles. KyleGoetz 04:52, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Now I'm not so sure. I have a few episodes, and was able to verify that the list before I edited it with the asterisks a few days ago was not accurate. However, the episode titles previously given were not necessarily translated from Japanese. I speak Japanese, and only a few on the list are translations of the Japanese. Not sure what to do.KyleGoetz 00:26, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The titles that were originally put up are the officle Saban episode titles. The others are alternate titles that were used on VHS releases.24.29.74.132 00:04, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That is not true. I have a couple episodes recorded off of Nick onto VHS, and the titles that appear there are clearly not what were originally listed here. This is what caused my confusion -- Saban's official titles must not be what even aired on Nick, then! KyleGoetz 04:01, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just assumed they were the offical Saban titles because I found them on the bcdb.24.29.74.132 21:09, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Voice Actors

[edit]

Can somebody please fix this run-on sentence?

[edit]

Blinky is able to sustain himself while living on Earth with Sandy because of the Eucalyptus trees that Sandy's grandmother had planted 38 years ago when Sandy's grandfather, an archaeologist who had mysteriously disappeared while on an expedition to Ayers Rock, just before the ship was lost, told her that he was sending a Koala as a gift, as Sandy's grandmother had expressed that she had always wanted one as a pet. 24.130.24.40 (talk) 21:39, 17 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Episode Columns

[edit]

Is it really necessary to have a plot summary for the entire series? Wouldn't it be better to put a column for the episodes and put down summaries for each episode? 2603:6010:8B45:FA00:D827:5F25:A2D9:A085 (talk) 00:03, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Character Traits

[edit]

Can we state some of the characters' traits? The descriptions for the characters right now are so bland! 2603:6010:8B45:FA00:B1D1:A69D:CFED:DF71 (talk) 22:11, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
