[edit]

Hi everyone,

I'm suspecting this edit of an IP that seems to have made only this contribution to be a copyright violation, as a Google search of a random sentence

"On the 20th October our friend, the beautiful Eileen Daly visited Mr DeWrays Recording Studio in Hampshire. Eileen laid down some backing vocals on the song "Bombers" and Nosferatu were interviewed and filmed for Eileen's New Television Series "Peek A Boo" which is being shown on Sky TV."

turns out to be also found on http://www.nosferatu.fsworld.co.uk/biography.htm and http://www.answers.com/topic/nosferatu-band. Of course, there's always the possibility of us being copied by them, but this is not very likely in this case, I'm afraid ... Anyway, the article in its current form is without question not suitable and hardly usable, as it seems to be pure advertising/self-description/fandom.

So, in conclusion, I take the liberty of reverting to the last unsuspected version. If anyone complains, show us your sources and we'll see ... -- marilyn.hanson 16:02, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

POV?

[edit]

The last few sentences need to be reworded to reflect a neutral point of view per Wikipedia policies. Stating that a particular member "hijacked" the name of the group is hardly objective. B.Wind 23:09, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

10 albums

100,000

The Sisters must have sold several times that for each album. -- Beardo 03:10, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fix it up

[edit]

I just did a quite edit to better present the info in the article. If anyone can find some sources to back it up, that'd be great )I'm at work, so no time for tracking down primary sources). MjolnirPants (talk) 19:41, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I just undid a revision by another IP address that uses unsubstantiated qualifiers in the description. I suspect that someone associated with the band has their own ideas of how a WP article should look, because they keep listing the festivals the band has played in an oddly formatted way in the introduction. See WP:style for why I reverted. With some sources to verify the info, perhaps we could create a section listing the festivals. MjolnirPants (talk) 12:44, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit War

[edit]

A bit of background, the current version of this band was an unauthorised version made possible by the weak UK litigation laws. Although it has traded for a few years this way, recently the current main member has started to edit the history of the band as a reaction to ex members forming their version of this band.

The user Johnny Alucard aka Damien Deville is attempting to rewrite history by claiming he started the band in 1986 some two years before he joined an already existing band. He has also introduced some ridiculous statements such as him countersuing me with Sony Music lawyers a fact that never happened. Neither did the band subsequently reach higher chart positions and neither was he the majority songwriter.

He has altered his website recently to refelect these false statements (I have a web archive showing the previous version).

Currently Johnny Alucard keeps reverting the page to this unqualified state and posting nonsensical comments.

In the interests of wikipedia being an information site I urge you to either delete this page altogether or accept that this will remain an edit war into oblivion.

I've added Johnny Alucard to the connected contributors section. Recommend both of you cool off from the article, and let some uninvolved / unconnected editors fix it up. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:33, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I put in formation date of 1988 per the Allmusic biography by Huey. This is assumed to be neutral. Another option is to list 1990 as their debut track. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:42, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

COI notice STOP

[edit]
Johnny Alucard, Vladjanicek66, from now on, you need to use edit requests here at the talk page if you are going to make edits to this article. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:52, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Just an update Johnny Alucard is at it again deleting entries to suit his agenda.

Incorrect Releases

[edit]

You have made errors with the EPs

  • The Hellhound (1991)
  • Vampyres Cry (1992)
  • Diva (1992)
  • Inside The Devil (1993)
  • Savage Kiss (1993)

See https://www.discogs.com/artist/272433-Nosferatu-4

Vladjanicek66 (talk) 22:42, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Vladjanicek66, Discogs is not a reliable source, as it is user-generated. Are there screenshots of the records somewhere to show the release date? They can be added later where vetted. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:53, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Vladjanicek66, I've added allmusic ilnks to support this for now. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:58, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Heres another link that backs up the chronology https://rateyourmusic.com/artist/nosferatu if I could access MCPS records I could show you official release data.

Here are photos I took today of actual physical sleeves:

https://we.tl/t-6qJnmvRUy2

I tried inserting them here but wikipedia wont let me, I hope this settles it.

Vladjanicek66 (talk) 17:09, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Vladjanicek66, can you get them added to Commons? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:16, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea how to do that

Vladjanicek66 (talk) 19:12, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Vladjanicek66, if you can make your request on what dates and titles to change here like:

Please change The Hellhound (1991) to The Hellhound (1990) Here's a link to the album cover showing the copyright date. (LINK)

Then we can correct typos without violating COI. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 19:31, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

It would also be nice and courteous to link to The Nosferatu website and Facebook

The Nosferatu

[edit]

Please no edit warring regarding whether The Nosferatu is a tribute, cover, or spinoff band. The group is clearly made up of former members. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:10, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Aces High 1945, this applies to you. Please do not remove or argue over the tribute band thing as you did on my talk page. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 19:58, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edits

[edit]

Aces High 1945, you need to back up your claims on year changes with the appropriate references. Also, do not remove "The Nosferatu" section. If you are connected to the band in any manner, you need to declare COI. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 19:48, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Page was fully edit- and move-protected "locked the page for 3 days in order to drive discussion [to the talk page section immediately above this one]".

Please add protection templates, the bot that usually does it hasn't done it yet.

I think the templates are {{pp|dispute|small=yes|section=Recent edits}} {{pp|dispute|small=yes|action=move|section=Recent edits}} but I have no way of testing this, please put in whatever is correct.
