First Portuguese musician on the the UK charts?

[edit]
"At the time, he was the only Portuguese musician to have a UK hit, and hence was the first to score a UK number one."

Huh? Was he the only Portuguese EVER to have a UK hit (and hence the first number one)? Or was he the only one "at the time", the much weaker statement that the first clause actually makes? This should be changed to either "He was the only Portuguese musician ever to have a UK hit, and hence was the first to score a UK number one." or "At the time, he was the only Portuguese musician to have a UK hit, and he was the first ever to score a UK number one." You know, whichever is true. And verifiable with citations. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.123.89.93 (talk) 19:34, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Citation needed at the last sentence of the first paragraph

[edit]

Hello,

I have had a similar query regarding the claim of "First Portuguese musician on the UK charts". This is an ambiguous statement and required a citation to clarify and verify its truthfulness, and so I have added a "citation needed" tag to indicate this.
