Saanich, British ColumbiaSaanich – Name is unique as town name, secondary uses are the anglicized form of WSANEC, the language, the Saanich Peninsula, and the other two "FOO Saanich" municipalities, Saanich Inlet and various electoral districts as on Saanich (disambiguation), target is redirect to current title. Canadian disambiguation rules per CANSTYLE say unique town/city names take no disambiguation Relisted. BDD (talk) 23:28, 26 March 2014 (UTC) Skookum1 (talk) 04:27, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. No proof of a primary topic. Moving the dab page before the nomination is not a proper action. Vegaswikian (talk) 23:12, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • PRIMARYTOPIC discussion has been opened as a result of this RM; and though OTHERSTUFFEXISTS it's not like others haven't done the same thing. How I moved it over redirect I don't understand....I didn't know I could do that. This is clearly WP:CSG#Places covered; the only possible dispute for this is for the colloquial use of "Saanich" within Greater Victoria to refer to all three municipalities; the Saanich peoples are not even close in terms of a primary usage (plural despite the current title there, which was originally, or close-to-originally, "WSANEC" per then-in-effect consensus/convention re using and respecting native endonyms); once upon a time there were editors from Greater Victoria, not sure who's still active there; but no doubt you'd argue that local input is irrelevant. How often is this name heard in Nevada, by the way?Skookum1 (talk) 08:32, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
