Sinan explained not being of Romani descent

[edit]

Sakic himself has publicly explained not being of Romani descent several times, being erroneously assumed as Romani throughout his life because of his slightly darker skin tone. Namely, in his last interview on Serbian Happy TV, 05/12/2017, which can be seen on Sinan's 2017 interview on YouTube, timestamp 34:40:, he remarked: "Really, I wish I spoke Romani - I am not, however, a Romani myself, I am a child from Muslim family... since the beginning of time - but I really wish I spoke Romani because of those songs and everything else in life." Note: Muslims in Serbia in this context are not the adherents of Islam, but the Slavic ethnic group of Muslim faith from former Yugoslavia, that predominantly embraced Bosniak nationality after the break-up of Yugoslavia, but ~40,000 of whom still declare as Muslims by nationality. 87.116.179.11 (talk) 23:37, 2 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
