source for the move to Brum in 1960 etc: http://www.classicbands.com/spencerdavis.html Saw Spencer Davis at Brewood Music Festival 17-07-10. The lead sing of the band said it was Spencer's 71st Birthday so references to him being born in 1941 are incorrect —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mondo one (talkcontribs) 08:39, 18 July 2010 (UTC) As for Catalina Island, why is it called "small?" The Wikipedia entry for islands in the United States strongly suggests that it is medium-sized; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_islands_of_the_United_States_by_area — Preceding 107.217.84.95 (talk) 23:55, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Davis/Davies

[edit]

The first paragraph of the article mentions him dropping the 'e' in Davies to become Davis but there's no other mention of this anywhere. His birth name is given as Davis. There's no citation for the Davies bit. Should it be removed or a citation given?Ccheever (talk) 00:21, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bill Perks / Wyman

[edit]

The claim that he was in a skiffle group called the Saints with Bill Perks (later Wyman) comes from this edit - unsourced, by an IP in California - back in 2006. It has since been widely repeated (such as in the BBC obituary)... but, is there a reliable source pre-dating 2006 that confirms it? If not, it should be removed. Ghmyrtle (talk) 13:33, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ghmyrtle, I found this source that supports this claim from the Chicago Tribune. The article is dated this year, but is an actual article and not an obituary. Please see: https://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/music/ct-ent-spencer-davis-dead-20201020-b2bd633eqbfftf7bef5reirp3a-story.html Jurisdicta (talk) 00:15, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That's no use to us. Much of it bears a very close relationship to our article. The claim of Davis' involvement with Wyman has been widely reported in articles and obituaries - but, it is extremely likely that that comes from drawing on this article (as we know many journalists do), and from articles that in turn have drawn on this article over the last 14 years. What we need are reliable sources pre-dating 2006 that support the claim. Ghmyrtle (talk) 05:12, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

1975 lineup?

[edit]

This article has no information on the 1975 incarnation, as seen on The Midnight Special - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eT4yIuArY_k — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:3220:6CE0:2C12:F2E5:2B0E:D9FF (talk) 18:15, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
