It's not "random racist asshattery": the school's own application form for teacher jobs asks applicants, "Please state your views on corporal punishment in regard to the education of young African-American men." Clearly the school itself believes that paddling is very useful for black young men. Personally I would extend that to young men of any race or color, but here we are just quoting what the school says. Alarics (talk) 20:55, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at the page history, the problem I think is with the change from "The school believes that" to "The school has found that" - to me the second one implies agreement with the school's policy and a belief that the policy is well-founded. I don't think Wikipedia should repeat random high school administrator's beliefs as facts, especially when those beliefs seem to be a variation on the stereotype that black men and boys are particularly attuned to violence.
I'm changing "has found" back to "believes", but since you've clearly put a lot more into this page than I have, if you think there's good reason to revert it I'll happily bow to your judgement.
I'm sorry for the inflammatory edit message before.
You're right, "believes that" is more neutral. Alarics (talk) 22:04, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
