St Buryan Church name

[edit]

Cornish churches are normally referred to as 'St Saintsname Church' or as 'the church of 'St Saintsname' (especially when the town/village is of the same name), not as 'St Saintsname's Church DuncanHill 21:35, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"The church of St Buryan" is surely nonstandard. perhaps "Church of St. Buryan". ptkfgs 17:20, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I would be happy with that. I spoke to the vicar at the church yesterday about the name, and she said that it is generally referred to as the Church of St. Buryan, not St Buryan's church. i don't have a problem with dropping the 'the' Mammal4 11:24, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
