Too many images

[edit]

That is way too many images. Linking to an external site which hosts them would be great, but more than half a dozen in the article is overdoing it. Someone more familiar with his work should prune it down to a top five list, because I am afraid I'd remove some particularly noteworthy ones if I did it. I tend to agree. Why not create a Cole Gallery in wikimedia? I have my own prejudices, but I'd volunteer to par down the list. Would someone else volunteer to put all the images under the categoy Thomas Cole in wikimedia commons? JJ 17:46, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Third here. I hooked it up to Commons. Goldfritha 21:04, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, someone had to be bold. Cleaning it up. Goldfritha 23:49, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
gasp
Well, it is Better Than It Was. I purged an number of images, and grouped those that were obviously companion pieces together, and added links. Still quite a few pictures to make it representive. Goldfritha 00:18, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
When you say create a Cole gallery on here, do you mean a seperate page? I think the "Course of an Empire" series (five paintings) would be good to feature. Any thoughts? --Ragemanchoo82 (talk) 22:57, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unbelievably Irritating gif

[edit]

Can anything be done about the gif for "The Course of Empire"? If we must have gifs of art works (and I actually can't see why they're necessary at all), could they at least cycle through sufficiently slowly to give the viewer a chance to examine each work? RomanSpa (talk) 16:23, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I agree and have switched the GIF to one that cycles more slowly. Spangineerws (háblame) 21:37, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
