Article title

[edit]

Is there any particular reason why this article is named United States Senate career of Hillary Rodham Clinton and not Senate career of Hillary Clinton? As far as I know, Clinton has never been a state senator anywhere (thus no other senator than a U.S. senator) and there has never been any other senator named Hillary Clinton. WP:PRECISE says we should be only as precise as necessary to disambiguate, and Hillary Clinton is her common name. United States Senate career of Hillary Rodham Clinton seems a bit overly precise. I'd suggest moving to Senate career of Hillary Clinton if there is consensus for it. Wilhelm Meis (☎ Diskuss | ✍ Beiträge) 19:32, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It was originally created as Senate career of Hillary Rodham Clinton by me in 2007 and stayed that until 2011, when Brandmeister moved it to its present title in order to better align it with the United States Senate article title. The two other examples of articles of this type are split in this respect - we have United States Senate career of Barack Obama in one direction but Senate career of John McCain, 2001–present in the other. I have no strong preference either way myself. As for the name part, it aligns with the Hillary Rodham Clinton article, and I do have a strong preference that it remain that way (and that name in turn has been upheld in multiple discussions and RfM's, the most recent a few months ago).
