The Revolution

[edit]

There's talk of an "attempted revolution" in 280 BC, and the language is really ruddy, pointing to "the" revolution before it's even mentioned. What's more, I read somewhere that "inter marriage" is a real euphemism for rape, maybe even prima nocta, and also of torture;

"When the plebeians of the Etruscan city of Volsinii rebelled against the aristocrats in 280 BC, "They took their wives for themselves and placed the daughters of the nobles under the jus primae noctis, while all their former masters on whom they could lay hands were tortured to death."[10]"

The map

[edit]

It would be nice, of course, to have a map and also nice to have some coordinates at the top. But of what location? Until the problem is resolved perhaps the readers will remember they can click on the coordinates in the picture captions for maps that are readable at a glance, terrian and political, as well as satellite photos.Dave (talk) 15:12, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
