Falling?

[edit]

On Wednesday, November 26th, 2008, CMU's Walking to the Sky appeared to have been falling over, and is currently being supported by wires grounded in concrete blocks.

Waiting for a local paper to cover it before it can be included in the article, if at all. et oui c'est fabuleux !! MalignantMouse (talk) 06:11, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removed

[edit]

On october 4 2009 the statue was removed. Rumor on campus was that it is being replaced with a new version that is better supported (the old statue was swaying quite a bit in the wind).

Not a rumor. It's true, see [1] and [2]. Copysan (talk) 20:25, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Statue versions

[edit]

Prior to May 25, 2010, in the section that describes the statue at Carnegie Mellon, this page had a final sentence that read, "The new version is pictured and contains several people walking as opposed to the older structure, which only had one." This sentence is incorrect, so I removed it. I am an alumna that was on the Carnegie Mellon campus from 2005-2010, so I have seen the statue go up and be updated. It always had several people walking on it by design. When the statue was undergoing testing and replacement, the persons walking to the sky were temporarily removed. At one point, there was only one person walking on it, but this was a temporary measure and was never part of an "older version" of the structure. VS 78 (talk) 13:01, 25 May 2010 (UTC)VS 78[reply]

East?

[edit]

It doesn't appear that the pole actually points East as the article states, at least not on the CMU campus. In fact, it seems to point almost directly Southeast. Is this untrue for other versions of the piece? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.237.230.62 (talk) 21:56, 15 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
