This has been waiting for a review long enough, so I'll take the plunge in the next few days. Wizardman 02:54, 10 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Here are the issues I found:

  • Link lettered (letterman (sports)) in the early life section.
  • The minor league playing career feels a letter overly glossed over, though in fairness it would be a bit stat-heavy if included. It's fine for now but I'd expand if you're going for FA.
  • Link Pueblo Dodgers.
  • "In early 1955, after a strong start to the season, a reporter commented on Alston's reticence: "For a guy on the spot after the Brooks lost in '54, Alston wasn't much like a manager whose club had just won 10. He was more like Eddie Stanky after losing four."[27] " This feels a little off to me. Hard to explain but it just doesn't feel like it fits in with the article, though I do get what it's trying to say. PErhaps reword sans quote to be more succinct.
  • "In 1974, the Dodgers won an NL pennant " change an to the
  • Also, while not really an issue for GA, the article does feel a little quote heavy. Try converting a couple of them to prose, since as is it leans towards more a reading of what other people thought of him rather than a bio.

Overall not much to fix; article on hold and will pass when fixed. Wizardman 02:11, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think I was able to address all of these except for the minor league issue. Will work on that one late tonight. I tried to paraphrase some of the quotes and to rework the reticence quote from the fourth bullet. I'm fine if that part just needs to come out. I should be able to address the minor league stuff tonight. Thanks for your review! EricEnfermero (Talk) 14:05, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Everything looks good now, and the modifications made to the career does help out. As such, I'll pass the article as a GA. Wizardman 02:41, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
