Moved from Uprising of Aristonicus (which is unattested) to War of Aristonicus (which is). I'm agnostic as to the best title. Rewrote article from long Strabo and Eutrop cites to modern-er sources, mainly Gruen Hellenistic world (1984), Steel End of the Roman republic (2013), and MRR. Lots seems to be unclear about this war; well-sourced additions – rather than primary source speculations – welcome. Ifly6 (talk) 02:14, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Alternate name may be Revolt of Aristonicus which seems to get more hits on Google Scholar. However, calling it a "revolt" may be not entirely from a fair point of view: the term basically assumes the legitimacy of Roman claims to Pergamon (something itself at issue).
