List of episodes

[edit]

Dear Wikipedians,

Can a practised wikipedia editor make a page with the list of episodes for World Without End?

With kind regards,

Lierob 83.82.221.119 (talk) 19:15, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We usually don't with miniseries, unless the article is so big that it is necessary. Even if lengthy detailed summaries get added (which are not recommended) within the episode listing, what is already there is sufficient. I suppose a more pertinent question would be to ask someone to fill in the episode summaries. Thanks. — WylieCoyote (talk) 00:31, 13 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The official website also has different title names than IMDB which currently is listed. CarolMooreDC 00:22, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That is NOT the official website. That IS the ReelzChannel website. If you want the OFFICIAL website try www.world-without-end.tv instead. Just because you find it on a US channel doesn't mean the associated website for that broadcaster is the official website for the programme. Why different titles? Showcase has shown World Without End as 8 x 44 minutes. Reelz is showing the mini-series as 4 x 89 minutes. The owner of Showcase is one of the production companies for the mini-series; Reelz is simply a rights buyer in a particular market. Mini-series often will be produced with different edits, either for time or/and episodic length versus feature length, to allow broadcasters to fit a mini-series into their schedule. For example, The Pillars Of The Earth was shown on premium cable in Canada but when it was repeated on CBC the 8 episodes were re-cut into 9 episodes as CBC is an advertising-supported broadcaster. The titles listed aren't just because i felt like making references to chess. See the Showcase episode listing, which gives the time of next broadcast from the time of my writing this. Showcase ep list and since the Showcase database gets purged periodically here is an archive of it for future reference. delirious & lost~hugs~ 03:41, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Didn't this article already have the episode titles for the original 8-episode run? The entire section seems empty now. And as much as some may argue that episode synopses aren't typically done for mini-series, then why does the Pillars of the Earth mini-series have such summaries? should those summaries be then deleted from that page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.115.78.34 (talk) 01:48, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Someone decided to populate the episode summary fields with blatant copy & paste from another website. Rather than remove the copyright violation the whole section was vandalised via blanking. If someone wishes to write summaries they may do so. If someone copies from another publication it will again be removed (hopefully not removing the episode list as a whole). delirious & lost~hugs~ 05:12, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
