Black Panther (film)

[edit]
  • Reviewed: EJay Day
  • Comment: Snipes info sourced by first paragraph in the "Development" section. Boseman from the first sentence of the fourth paragraph in the same section.

Moved to mainspace by Favre1fan93 (talk), Richiekim (talk), TriiipleThreat (talk), and Adamstom.97 (talk). Nominated by Favre1fan93 (talk) at 18:25, 18 January 2017 (UTC).

  • I believe this article is an automatic fail as it is not "new" (it was created more than 7 days before nomination, and it had not been expanded 5* in the week prior to its nomination. Please respond to this query before I quickfail the nomination.--Coin945 (talk) 17:30, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
This was nominated on the same day it was created - this edit moved the article to the mainspace. Before then it was just a draft, not an actual article. - adamstom97 (talk) 21:36, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
@Coin945: Eligible per Wikipedia:Did you know#Eligibility criteria 1d: "Articles that have been worked on exclusively in a user or user talk subpage or at articles for creation or in the Draft namespace and then moved (or in some cases pasted) to the article mainspace are considered new as of the date they reach the mainspace." This was a draft article until it moved to the mainspace on January 18, 2017, when the nomination was created, per the link Adamstom included above. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:52, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
Ahh apologies. You should have made that clear in the nom as the evidence was in an edit summary buried within the revision history. Okay, down to business. The rest of it is fine. Article length is more than required. As with all other MCU film articles, this one has extensive and neutral coverage.

Notes on the hook:

  • I didn't know T'Challa was the same person as Black Panther so the hook confused me
  • I think it is misleading to imply that Snipes' 1992 BP film is the same as the upcoming release. You refer to it as "the film", and the portion about 1992 links to the upcoming film. I would advise changing the hook to something like this: "... that Wesley Snipes had been interested in portraying Black Panther in film over 20 years before Marvel Studios officially announced the MCU version of Black Panther?."

Everything else is fine. Please address hook then we're good to go!--Coin945 (talk) 04:58, 28 January 2017 (UTC)

I have added an "ALT2" which adjust some of the issues/suggestions you had, but keeps much of the original hook. The point of the hook was to show that Snipes ultimately did not get the role. Please let me know your thoughts on the ALT2 hook. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:00, 28 January 2017 (UTC)

Awesome! Good to go with Alt2. Fabulously written article by the way. :)--Coin945 (talk) 20:37, 28 January 2017 (UTC)

Thank you! It was in the draft space for a long time and the other editors who helped me get it to the mainspace spent a lot of time on it to get it to where it was for when it was ready for the mainspace. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:46, 28 January 2017 (UTC)
