2.1. Tara Arctic 2007-2008

In the in the context of the International Polar Year (2007-2008), the project Tara Arctic is part of the DAMOCLES research program aimed at understand climate change phenomena in the higher latitudes^[1].

From September 2006 to January 2008, Tara was drifted frozen in the Arctic ocean^[2], reproducing Nansen's Fram expedition of 1893–1895^[3].
