CMS Watch is an independent technology analyst company that evaluates content-oriented technologies[1]. Through the publication of 10 evaluation reports and online courses, the company provides an independent source of buyer's advice on web content management, enterprise content management[2], enterprise portals, search technology, digital asset management, Microsoft SharePoint[3], XML and component content management, enterprise social software, and e-mail archiving and management.

In February 2008, analyst-watcher Technobabble calculated that CMS Watch's blog was among the ten most popular of all industry analyst blogs[4].

CMS Watch was founded in 2001 by Tony Byrne and is headquartered in Olney, MD. As of September 2008, the firm has five full-time analysts and ten contributing/guest analysts [6].

Since its founding, the company has come to differentiate itself by avoiding conflicts of interest, never working for vendors, and only for technology buyers.[7]
