Cymbal Shards.

Introduction.

The Cymbal shards are an English indie rock band formed in Oxford in 2023. The band consists of lead vocalist and Rhythm guitarist Tully O'leary, Lead guitarist Arlen Elford Inskon, Drummer Conor Brown and Bassist Edward Hogan. Songs usualy written by Tully O'leary And Arlen Elford Inskon.

Their debut EP 'The Cymbal Shards EP' was released on April 1st 2024 on SoundCloud. Later they would release music mainly on Spotify through DistroKid With some of their first Spotify releases being tracks such as 'maybe we can have a good time' and 'One thing i know' (on july 17th 2024 the single 'one thing i know' surpassed 1000 streams on spotify, and kept growing).

History(formation, first songs etc)

Cymbal shards was founded by Tully O'leary and Conor brown in 2023. The two met in school and became what they have described as brothers, forming the band for fun and something to do after figuring out they both had similar wants and interests in Music. Not long after the bands initial formation, Bassist Joseph Noble a school mate and close friend, joined and started playing and recording with the band.The bands first song was 'blue in the making of sunlight' which was uploaded onto Audiomack where the band first uploaded their music, although the track was later re-named to 'Runnaway' based of of the lyrics.

in summer of 2023 Bassist Joseph Noble Parted with the band for 3 months until rejoining for a further 7 months to record the first album with the band, and leave the band for finale in March 2023 after their last performance together as a band. Towards the end of march Bassist Edward Hogan And Guitarist Arlen Alford Inskon, Friends of Tully O'leary and Conor Brown, joined the band making them a four piece.

Influences

The band are known to have taken influence from oxford formed band Radiohead, Neighbouring oxford band The Kokrochez, blur and more. with some of the bands songs such as, Help me having a very similar vibe to Radioheads' Creep.

Although the band has defined themselves as an indie band, allot of their music stretches to such genres as Indie pop, Ambient, British rock. Grunge and more. with songs such as Time to kill being more of an indie pop-rock mash up. And the groups Is it eva gonna stop, taking a more indie-punk turn on things.
