Garrett Brown

Garrett Brown is an American author, sales leader, keynote speaker, entrepreneur, and adjunct professor of entrepreneurship. He is the co-author of the Wall Street Journal bestselling book, The Unsold Mindset: Redefining What it Means to Sell,[1] and is the co-creator and professor of "Sales Mindset for Entrepreneurs" at the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business.[2][3]

Early life

Brown graduated from the University of Southern California, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He subsequently earned a J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law.

Career

Brown began his career as a corporate lawyer where he represented startups and entrepreneurs.[4] After three years, he decided to leave the practice of law to join the world of tech startups. His first role was a sales role with online gaming company Fastpoint Games.[5] Brown went on to lead all of the company's sales and business development efforts until it was acquired.[6]

Brown later joined enterprise technology startup Bitium as its chief revenue officer.[7] It was there that he met his business, teaching, and writing partner, Colin Coggins. Together, they led the company's revenue operations until it was acquired by Google in 2017.[8] After the acquisition, Brown joined Google in a revenue management role until leaving to start his business with Coggins.

Brown and Coggins co-created the popular Sales Mindset for Entrepreneurs class as the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business,[9] and founded Agency18, a firm that works with companies of all sizes to change cultures and adopt the Unsold Mindset.[10] They are also frequent keynote speakers, represented by the prestigious Leading Authorities speakers' bureau.[11]

The Unsold Mindset

In 2021, Brown and Coggins signed a publishing deal with HarperCollins Publishers on their Harper Business imprint to publish their book, The Unsold Mindset.[12][13]

The book was released on February 21, 2023 and debuted at #4 on the Wall Street Journal bestseller list under the "Hardcover Business" books category.[14] The Unsold Mindset was named a "Must Read" book by The Next Big Idea Club.[15][16] It has received strong reviews from readers and critics alike.[17][18]
