On May 31st 2018, the University of Georgia Fairburn (UGF) was founded. Fairburn is located 25 minutes away from the Atlanta Zoo, which features 4 Panda Bears. This was the inspiration for the school mascot.

The Pandas currently play in the Atlantic Coast Conference, and have short but successful history. In only three seasons, the Pandas won the GoDaddy.com Bowl, they’ve won the Sunbelt Conference championship, and played in the Sugar Bowl against their rivals, the Georgia Bulldogs. The UGF Pandas do not have any athletes selected in the Pro Draft in their brief 3 year history, however, things look exciting for them on Season 4. The Stadium is named The Big House, however, after Tom Adamo’s legendary season, the UGF Panda fans call the stadium the Adamodome, in honor of one the greatest athletes to ever play for the school.

Playstyle

The UGF Pandas play an aggressive style of football. They often go for 4th down conversions. The rushing game is their favorite strategy, lead by Will Horton and Jeff Warren. Their players can pull off the "Tanner Special", a vicious spin move that can leave defenders behind in the blink of an eye. This move was originally created by Reishaun Tanner, a Senior Half Back who has been redshirted in season 4, so he can make his special move even deadlier.

The Pandas offensive playbook is an adaptation of the spread offense, were they also have a Goaline formation, specialized in fullback runs. Their most used play is the read option. They also like to go for slant routes when passing. On the goal line they usually rely on running with the Fullback (gridiron football) and quarterback sneaks.

The Pandas defensive playbook is the4-3. They play a somewhat aggressive defensive scheme as well, as they like to Blitz, and go for interceptions often. Back in season 3, they were the #1 run defense in the nation.

Season 1

Season Overview

The Pandas struggled to find their starting quarterback. Will Horton showed great potential as a duo threat quarterback, as Horton had the ability to scramble for extra yards and save broken plays. His lack of accuracy caused him to be intercepted often, and also miss wide open targets. This was a serious problem, specially in 3rd and long situations. Howard Cook was a better passer, however, his lack of mobility made the offense lack creativeness, specially when the offensive line was not able to hold defensive pressure for long. The start of the season was difficult. The Pandas played 3 ranked opponents on their first 3 games, including #1 Alabama and #2 Ohio State in back to back games. Unfortunately the Pandas couldn't win any of the games, and they also lost to ULM to start the season 0-4.

The first win in UGF’s history came in a intense game. After finding themselves down 0-17 with 18 seconds left on the 2nd quarter, the Pandas fought back and were down 24-17 late in the fourth quarter. With about 1 minute left, the Pandas faced a 4th and 11, and Will Horton threw an interception. The game seemed over, but after using all of their time outs and forcing a 3 and out, the Pandas had another chance. Will Horton seemed determined to put his interception behind him, and with a 37 yard connection to Elliot Denman, and a 39 yard connection to Hakim Perez, Horton finished the drive scoring himself a 3 yard rush touchdown. With 15 seconds left on the clock, the Pandas could have just kick the PAT and go for overtime, however, Tom Adamo inspired head coach Tony Romo to go for the two point conversion. Will Horton passed to Keenan Manning, who was able to slide to catch the ball. Manning, who originally played the free safety position, caught one of the most memorable passes in school history, granting them their first win ever.

Another memorable game in the season was when they faced off against Georgia State. The Pandas also had 4 recruits visiting. Georgia State was 0-9 coming into this game, but their opening drive resulted in a
