The Lake Fire is an active wildfire in Southern California's Santa Barbara County. As of July 5, 2024, the fire has burned 4,673 acres (1,891 hectares). The fire's cause is under investigation.[1]

The Lake Fire was reported near Zaca Lake, in the Los Padres National Forest, before 3:45 p.m. PDT. By 9:00, evacuation warnings went into effect for Figueroa Mountain Road. The fire burned 4,673 acres (1,891 ha) by 11:00 p.m. Conditions during this period were hot and gusty, with temperatures above 90 degrees Fahrenheit and winds with peak gusts ≥15 miles per hour (24 km/h).[2][3]
