From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Elamaism is a new polytheistic religion made in 2008 by founders Emily and Jade. The religion focuses on creation by the goddess "Moo" and living life as a good person. They also believe in reincarnation.[1][2]

Founding

[edit]

Elamaism was founded in 2008. The cause for the religion's founding was the inability of the founders to find any other religion which supported their particular beliefs and values. The name, "Elamaism" is derived from the Finnish word Elama, meaning life.[1]

Deities

[edit]

As a polytheistic religion, Elamaism has several gods and goddesses. Each god and goddess has some sort of power or purpose of their own.[1]

Goddesses

[edit]
  • Moo is an "overseer" in Elamaism, and she created Earth. She takes the form of a dairy cow.
  • Shagari has rule over good luck and good karma, and she is a white pegasus. She is the mate of Zaquill and mother to Toby.
  • Kiara is the sun goddess and a guardian angel. She is a bright yellow unisis, or cross between a unicorn and pegasus. She is mated to Toby and they have one colt, Shimmer.
  • Tyme has rule over love and romance and is part of the "fate trilogy". She is a white wolf, and she has two puppies, Shyloh and Shenloh. Her mate is Acidus.
  • Shyloh is the guardian of mothers and expecting mothers. She is the pup of Tyme and twin sister to Shenloh. She is depicted as a pink wolf pup.
  • Tinker is the goddess of creativity and individuality. She is a unique creature known as a "watafay".
  • Kamasu is the goddess of pleasure. Her form is that of a siamese cat

Gods

[edit]
  • Brah is the other "overseer". He comes from another planet and is Moo's mate.
  • Zaquill has power over bad luck and bad juju. He is the mate of Shagari and father to Toby. He is a black unicorn.
  • Toby is the moon god and guides the souls of dead creatures to their next life. He is the mate of Kiara and father to Shimmer. He is a red unisis.
  • Shimmer is the god of the stars and can see into the future. He is a navy blue colt with a yellow mane and tail, and yellow star shaped markings.
  • Acidus is another part of the "fate trilogy". He controls chance. He is a gray wolf and he is mated to Tyme. They have two pups, Shyloh and Shenloh.
  • Sypher is part of the fate trilogy. He sees and controls how creatures die. He is a gray wolf.
  • Shenloh is the guardian of children. He is the pup of Tyme and Acidus. He is the twin brother of Shyloh. He is depicted as a blue wolf pup.

Hierarchy

[edit]

There is hierarchy among these deities, with goddesses being higher in rank than Gods.[1] The hierarchy is as follows:

Moo - Brah

Shagari - Zaquill

Kiara - Toby

Shimmer

Tyme- Acidus - Sypher

Shyloh - Shenloh

Tinker - Kamasu

Writings

[edit]

There is one sacred book in Elamaism, called "The Kirja".[1][2] The word Kirja is the Finnish word for "book".[2] As of yet, it has not been published. Part of it is available for reading on the website.[1]

Holidays

[edit]

Elamaism has several holidays. The most prominent of Elamaic holidays is called Elama, and focuses on Moo's creation of Earth. It involves a ceremony and reading from The Kirja. It occurs on April 11th.[3] The [[full moon] is also a time of celebration for Elamaics. During the full moon, the god Toby is honored. Other holidays include summer solstice, when Kiara is honored, and winter solstice, when Zaquill is honored.[1]
