Rick Kinsel is the Executive Director of The Vilcek Foundation. He has been with the foundation since it first incorporated, and was instrumental in shaping its mission and programs, including the annual Vilcek Prizes, the Events and Exhibitions, and the Vilcek Foundation art collections. Kinsel has overseen the foundation’s recent expansions in staff and programming, as well as the current renovation of a five-story building in Manhattan, the site of foundation’s future headquarters.

Career

Before joining the Vilcek Foundation, Kinsel was Director of Cultural Affairs at Coty, Inc., where he managed Coty’s corporate philanthropic activities, including curating art collections and sponsoring exhibitions, publications, and competitions for cultural institutions. Previously, Kinsel was a Cataloguer in Charge of Acquisitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Bildung

Kinsel completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History at the Ohio State University[3], and a Master of Arts degree in the History of the Decorative Arts at the Bard Graduate Center for Studies in the Decorative Arts.
