[edit]William Gordon Byrd is a Social Studies Teacher living in Austin, Texas, USA. He has two other official names. His Hispanic (non-Latino) name is Guillermo Barbardo de Escocia Del Casa de David. His Hebrew name is Chaniel Gil ben Yisrael.
Mr. Byrd has resided in Texas all his life and in Austin since 1999. He is currently working at the Excel Center for Adults Justice Ed Division teaching High School Social Studies at the Coleman Unit in Lockhart, TX (a minimum-security women's prison).
He is Jewish and a member of Austin's oldest synagogue , Congregation Beth Israel. He is active in service to the Austin Jewish community.
