Editing of direct quotes

[edit]

I reverted your edit to Gulf of Mexico because you changed the wording of a direct quote. The spelling, grammar, punctuation and choice of words in a direct quote reflect that used in the source, and must not be "corrected". Thank you for your understanding. - Donald Albury 17:35, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Donald Albury Hi, I checked the source and found the word as I put it (see the text in the pdf file and tell me) you will find that my words are correct.أحمد الغرباوي (talk) 19:07, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not make unexplained changes to any of the articles

[edit]

There's no reason to. The disruption that your one edit caused would have been completely avoided had you simply stated that you were restoring the text to match the original quote. Use the edit summary. It's there for a reason. Like this one. Dawnseeker2000 18:04, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
