Qatar–Saudi Arabia diplomatic conflict

[edit]

Hi, you reverted my edit on Qatar–Saudi Arabia diplomatic conflict, saying there's no point in linking to a redirect. There is, in fact, a point; the project Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages with links works with a bot-generated report to keep track of (unintentional) links to disambiguation pages in order to fix them. An explicit link to "X (disambiguation)" doesn't show up in the report, since the bot then understands that the link is intentional; it doesn't matter that "X (disambiguation)" redirects to "X". Additionally, I do believe it is better to make clear in a "See also" section that a link takes the reader to a disambiguation page, in terms of expectation management. If you disagree with that, that's fine, you can just use [[Middle Eastern Cold War (disambiguation)|Middle Eastern Cold War]]. I hope this clears things up.
