Hello, I'm Omni Flames. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Turkey national football team  with this edit, without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Omni Flames (talk) 10:07, 28 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

The early years headline was too much centered to the left, it caused a major gap between the headline and the sentence but its fixed now 77.166.30.3 (talk) 10:10, 28 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Rıza Tevfik Bölükbaşı, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Pinkshrimp (talk) 14:26, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free image use

[edit]

Hi IP 77.166.30.3. I've noticed that some of your edits have involved the adding of football (soccer) team badges or logos to the infoboxes of varous articles. Please be advised that not every image you see on Wikipedia is licensed as public domain or under a free license. In fact, most sport team logos who see on Wikipedia are non-free logos licensed as non-free content. Non-free use on Wikipedia is extremely restrictive and each use of a non-free image is required to satisfy all 10 non-free content criteria listed in WP:NFCCP. Moreover, it is the responsibility of the person adding the image to provide a non-free use rationale for such use which shows how these criteria are met. Note that simply providing a rationale only satisfies a part of one of the criteria (WP:NFCC#10c) and does not automatically guarantee that non-free use complies with relevant policy. In addition, the fact that the same file or a similar file is being used in another article does not automatically mean that non-free use in acceptable in all cases for the reasons explaned in WP:OTHERIMAGE.

Non-free use can be a bit complicated, and the use of such logos is no exception to relevant policy. Be advised that the general consensus at WP:NFCR/WP:FFD involving similar logo use is that such logos are typically considered fine for the article about the national federation (i.e., the parent entity), but not acceptable in articles about individual teams (i.e., the child entities) in accordance with WP:NFC#UUI17. Also, files whose non-free use does not satisfy relevant policy may be removed by any editor at any time per WP:NFCCE. So, it might be a good idea for you to go back over your edits and re-check whether non-free use is appropriate. If you think it is, then you need to provide the relevant non-free use rationale. Once again, please don't assume that because a particular file is being used somewhere else that (1) the use is automatically policy compliant, and (2) being used in one or more articles automatically means its OK to use the file in even more articles. If you have a specific questions about non-free use, feel free to ask them at WP:MCQ or WT:NFCC -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:27, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Jim1138. An edit you recently made to Paul I of Russia seemed to be a test and has been removed. If you want more practice editing, the sandbox is the best place to do so. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 08:59, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't see the image of Paul I so I first refreshed the page then I tried re-editing the image in it's place. After I deleted my cookies I could see the image again. 77.166.30.3 (talk) 09:59, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

In cases like these, it helps if you use an edit summary. Unexplained changes are typically vandalism, and I typically revert them if I don't see the utility of the edit. I'm not an expert on a great many topics, so I could be wrong. If you at least supply an edit summary when you edit, it would help Wikipedians like me understand what you are trying to accomplish. Hello, I'm Melmann. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, Ali Kemal, but you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source.
