A question

[edit]

Why do you add mostly British news in the Portal:Current events pages? Call me when you get the chance (We need to talk/It ain't easy) 15:15, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I very clearly don't. I routinely post on the protests in Gaza, terrorism around the world, Polish crazy politics, worldwide disasters and accidents, etc etc. Systemic bias owing to the provision of sources in English, the location/gender/ethnicity of contributors, and the way in which search engines hand out results is extremely well documented and you are welcome and indeed encouraged to counter it by seeking out information from more poorly covered areas and topics. -- BobTheIP editing as 95.148.229.239 (talk) 15:25, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Current events

[edit]

Your editing on this is disruptive. Spelling out "United States" is fully in line with MOS:COMMONALITY. Please knock if off with your high-handed reverts. --IJBall (contribstalk) 20:58, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:CIVIL and MOS:US. I find it breathtaking you can ride roughshod over other editors with condescending edit summaries accusing them of not "doing it right", but the moment somebody points out you are the one doing it wrong you rush to make accusations of disruption. -- BobTheIP editing as 95.148.229.239 (talk) 21:22, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nice WP:Wikilawyering. The point remains – when an edit is mostly correct, you don't revert the whole edit: you simply fix the part that you believe to be "incorrect". Doing what you did is simply disruptive, and somewhat WP:OWN-ish. --IJBall (contribstalk) 22:08, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
There was nothing correct about the edit; there were two changes that appear to me neither better nor worse (one of which introduced a typo, incidentally) and one outright incorrect change. Additionally there was a condescending edit summary and no explanations given. -- BobTheIP editing as 95.148.229.239 (talk) 22:12, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
