I'm wondering if at some point if you might be willing to put your writing talents to good use. It's a great article so far in fact I think it could be a GA with Work. However it ends before the match starts, my writing skills are no where near as good as yours and I'm crap at match commentary so I was wondering if you might have a go. Feel free to say no. Thanks eithier way. Edinburgh Wanderer 22:12, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, everyone has the right to remove content they disagree with - it's only a problem if you repeatedly remove it against consensus. He's been given a final warning by another user, if you see anymore let me know. Cheers, GiantSnowman 19:49, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

2011–12 Manchester United F.C. season

[edit]

Are you able to take the time to cut it down? Kingjeff (talk) 02:21, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Kris Boyd

[edit]

Hi, first thing I'd recommend is leaving User:Thumperward a message on his talkpage, seeing as he was the GA nominator. The outcome of that would hopefully be the article being brought upto scratch to meet the GA criteria. If you do decide to seek reassessment, the procedure for this is explained at WP:GAR. Not sure what to do with those yet, maybe a sub page but will decide once if got everything sorted. Im going for simple from now on. Do you like it.E W 20:42, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Got a few ideas for the talk page as well, going for a simple but not so easy look but will try and include other things via subpages for those interested. Sure not many will be though. Thanks for doing the Scottish Cup final page really appreciate it, know your busy. E W 21:12, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Competency

[edit]

WP:COMPETENCE has more on the issue, but yes I would tell them what they're doing wrong with reference to policy/guidelines/consensus, offer to help, and if they still reuse to (or are unable to) then let me know and I'll have a word. Failing that we may have to block. GiantSnowman 13:53, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Logo Request

[edit]

There is a logo request change on the Celtic Page to the anniversary logo the club is currently using. Was tempted to do it but want your opinion. Blethering Scot 18:18, 28 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You would need to know all the past logo's but why not do something like this at Chelsea F.C.#Crest. Then you could have the current one at the top of the page especially since its the anniversary one. To be honest hadn't realised they had a new logo last season.Blethering Scot 18:35, 28 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah they've changed it everywhere. The gallery is definitely a good idea it just depends a lot on finding the old logos as it sounds like they may have had a fair amount.Blethering Scot 23:23, 28 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I've been editing players pages and reverting a fair few vandalism's aswell! Blether mentioned about the season articles so having a look through them now. Just hope the Rangers page can get sorted soon as that affects quite a lot of pages. BadSynergy (talk) 00:05, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Be Warned - Rangers FC - an attempt to push through a controversial 'same club' approach

[edit]

Hello. You have contributed to the Newco Rangers article so I thought yuou should be made aware that an attempt is being made to undermine this article by pushing through a 'same club' approach despite many of us believing this is heavily biased and very selective use of the sources. You may wish to follow what is proposed at the Talk:Rangers F.C/Sandbox. Spiritofstgeorge (talk) 12:44, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Scottish Cup Final

[edit]

Haha na it was no where near offensive. You said "thank you" (I assume google translate) and like I said I am currently (now was) at school and it is 5:30 and no one is here. My actual work is done so thought I have some fun on wikipedia for a while which lowers my maturity a little which is what lead to me doing Hindi summaries and saying it was offensive. Anyway Scot already did it. I shall keep the page in my watchlist and also like one other editor said, we should talk it out in the article talk page first (as per IP request). Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 21:43, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but I assume you cant type in Hindi using your keyboard so how can you use Hindi without resorting to google translate? --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 21:50, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Wait... isnt that only around $75 or £50. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 22:01, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well when you suscribe to Google EarthSiteTHingy it initially costs $5 per translation. Then after 3 months the price increases to $10 and you become a Silver member. Then after a year and 500 translations you are bumped to the Pink member which costs $50 to use but now you can translate in English-style languages like football talk or Ali G. Very good, I highly recommend it. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 22:11, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Yes its a rather odd title but looks although will be good. Paterson was great real talent, think Hearts will struggle for consistency though and we only really have one striker. Attendance was good as well when you look at some of the other teams but its the away support that kills you St Johnstone only filled a small section of the stand.Blethering Scot 17:12, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi thanks for welcoming me to the WikiProject Football page. I am looking to edit the selected page for the group stage as it looks a bit uneven eg Valencia's group to Real Madrid's group. I have already put in Leeds United's details for their first group stage as they have a season page on wikipedia. There is also very little details for the second and third qualifying rounds but plenty for round one. But I am just wondering if it seems ok as long as I am finding the correct information from external websites, etc? Many thanks Davezo33 talk 02:26 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Quite simple really, I don't like short articles being split up by spells at each club, particularly when a player is loaned out and then comes back (or is released). The article as it was made no sense chronologically. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 12:55, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Editing of Celtic Supporters article

[edit]

WP:BRD-NOT is clear that the policy you have once again provided "is not a valid excuse for reverting good-faith efforts to improve a page simply because you don't like the changes." The onus is on you to assume Wikipedia:GOODFAITH, justify reverting changes by explaining why you disagree that my edits are relevant, concise, and multiply attested by reliable, independent sources. Perhaps you have sources that contradict the content of my edits that I have missed. If so, I would be happy to be corrected. I also suggest you have a read of WP:AVOIDYOU in order to avoid venturing into the territory of personal attacks.Gefetane (talk) 13:22, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Would you please explain your issue on the article talk page to explain why you feel the edit shouldnt be included. I don't necessarily disagree with you but rather than me second guessing that I have the same thoughts thanks. Blethering Scot 23:38, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please take the care to check which editor actually reverted your version, to prevent falsely naming an editor within an accusation of "edit warring". Also, once again I request that you justify reverting content either within the article history, or talk page. I refer to the fine/ban regarding the **** UEFA banner incident in particular.Gefetane (talk) 12:45, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

i found it on the uefa page itself but uefa choose to use obsecure words other thsn ban--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 18:58, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In future

[edit]

In future, if you wish to launch an ill-founded, childish, personal attack on an editor, please exercise common decency in informing them of the relevant violation of WP:NPA, to allow them a chance to defend themselves. On an unrelated topic, do you ever plan to justify your reverting of my multiply-attested additions regarding the "F*** UEFA" banner within the article Celtic Supporters? It would save both of us much time if you simply complied with this, fairly standard, expectation. Cheers. Gefetane (talk) 10:00, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hearts

[edit]

Tottaly fell apart but the ref was having a nightmare. The big problem is McGlynn doesn't have a clue what to do when things go wrong and he blames the players as never takes any blame we should have just defended rather than trying to push forward. Personally I think he's a fantastic coach but not a manager. What makes no sense is McGowan is a defender and Paterson says he is better in midfield so nobody can understand why he is playing then out of position. Think he is going to face an uphill battle as half the crowd want him sacked which is a bit much after three games but football is fickle but I suppose Vlad sacked for less. Never seem that happen before but think a lot of Hearts fans weren't happy with the appt in the first place. Just hope we dont embarrass ourselves too much on Thursday expecting to be thoroughly beat but looking forward to it. Blethering Scot 12:31, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Personally think with another striker we would have a chance of competing. The nucleus of the side is reasonably good but they are playing one half games, we were better in the first half against Hibs and again lost it in the second against Inverness if we could stay consistent in a match then we would be winning these games and would be top of the league if we had held against inverness in particular, but tactically we are not capable of that. McGlynn has done several interviews saying that he wants us to dominate in the first but if he cant tactically compete in the second theres no point in that. If Hearts wanted just a coach they would of been better giving the job to John Murray the director of football, he is widely regarded as the best youth coach in the country so he would of been a better option. I cant see McGlynn lasting past christmas if he cant get it right and most papers today commentated that he didnt know what to do when it went wrong, well that and the ref how the paterson penalty was given in particular ill never know because when you look at it Shinnie put his feet between Paterson's not the other way around and even at that there was virtually no contact. The discontent amongst the fans against McGlynn wont help him. I feel sorry for the likes of Paterson as he will lose his place when Hamill is fit again as McGowan is guaranteed to drop back and Hamill will be where he belongs in midfield. Blethering Scot 20:13, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh and yes the football is good but they need to be able to play it out, most managers would of known how to solve that as the warning signs were there to see.Blethering Scot 20:16, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I know things havent been great but you know what this place is like, calm down and things work out eventually and i should know ive had more than my fair share of dramas. Invite to the African Destubathon

[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
