Please don't edit war

[edit]

Look, I can tell that you actually care about Rand's ideas, instead of just idolizing her personally, so why are you doing this? Rand doesn't need you to defend her memory. All of the people arguing are students of Objectivism, so we're not here to libel her. Still, Rand taught that the objective truth matters most, so we need to stick to the truth, irregardless of how some people might see Rand. By lying to protect her, you're only dishonoring the most valuable thing she showed us. Please stop edit-warring and accept that your version, no matter how much you personally like it, is not going to be exactly what winds up being in the article. I've done this; why can't you? This isn't a private message, it's a message about an article. It's incredibly uncivil to ignore it, and even worse to delete it. What's wrong with you?! ThAtSo 18:03, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, anonymous lier ThAtSo, if you insist. What matters is not what you or I care about. This is an encyclopedia, whose content must be verifiable as true or false by reference to primary and scholary sources. You have repeatedly deleted material verified by reference to the primary source, and replaced it by a mess of unverified spin. That is vandalism. Please straighten up or be out. First you make the wild accusation that, like "Hellen", I'm Nathaniel Branden in drag. Then you complain that I'm anonymous because I haven't posted anything but my first name. On Wikipedia, anonymous means not logging in, so people only see your IP. I'm always logged in and always sign my name, so that doesn't fit me either. Your constant attacks, incivility and abuse prove that you belong on those flame-fest SOLO forums, not in a civilized encyclopedia project where people are expected to cooperate. This is not your personal blog, and you do not individually control the content. That's really all there is to it, and you need to learn this. ThAtSo 19:34, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Previewing footnotes

[edit]

Hi, Adam. Thanks for your efforts in improving the Objectivism articles. On June 15th you commented on an edit to the Ayn Rand article "(→The Objectivist movement - Another correction to footnote. Why can't footnote text be previewed?)" The answer is that you should not use the "Edit" link by the subheadings if you think you will need to correct a citation, footnote, etc. Use the "Edit this page" link at the top of the page. Doing so will show you the entire article in your preview including the footnotes, so you can verify that they display as intended. It does take a bit longer to find your edit point, of course. I hope this answers your question. If not, leave a note on my user talk page. —Blanchette 06:32, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
