3RR

[edit]

While I fully agree with you on the issue of "coup" vs. "Events of 11 April", Wiki is based on reliable sources, and "verifiability not truth"; the fact is, reliable sources call it a coup, and Wiki must conform to that. Please discuss your edits on the article talk page, and be aware of WP:3RR-- if you continue to revert, you could be blocked. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 14:32, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks but I think a reliable source is a Justice Court, and like wikipedia changed the way we see a encyclopedia. WE can change the way things are proved in Wikipedia, a coup is not a coup just because a news article says so. I remember you that the General in chief of the republic stated that Chavez resigned. BCLH 15:36, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

I'm aware of the facts, and agree with you. Nonetheless, reliable sources consistently call it a coup, so we must do the same. You have reverted again, which means you have passed 3RR and are likely to be blocked. I won't file the edit warring report only because I've injured my back and am at half-mast on pain medication, but if you don't revert yourself, someone is likely to report you and you will be blocked for edit warring. Also, please be aware of the difference between primary and secondary sources, as they are used on Wiki-- Wiki reports what reliable secondary sources say. There is much work to be done on that article-- continuing to revert something that simply won't stick is not a good use of your time. Please take some time to understand Wiki policies, as that will make your editing more effective and your time here more enjoyable. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 15:47, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I count three reverts (the first edit not being a revert). In any case Sandy is correct, and this is longstanding WP:Consensus and if you really want to argue it, start on the relevant article talk page. Rd232 talk 20:58, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks SandyGeorgia, Can you help me with this?, if something does not have a proper reference or the link is missed. Can I change that info_?BCLH 19:52, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

I can't help with the issue of "coup" vs. "events of 11 Abril"; unfortunately, the international media is unable to assimilate the complexities and subleties of what happened on 11 Abril-- they call it a "coup", so Wiki has to call it a coup. What has to be done in the article is to add info discussing the debate over whether it was a coup, but changing the article name is not in line with Wiki policy, which is "verifiability, not truth". That article needs a great deal of work, but before tackling it, you will need to learn Wiki policy well. I'm unable to be of much help right now, as I have a very painful back injury, so am not at full speed. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 20:00, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Ramiro Helmeyer has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. mark nutley (talk) 18:12, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about this, but all the refs are in spanish so i can`t tell if they support what is in the article, it is possible to find english refs or translations? mark nutley (talk) 18:18, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is one article in English, but most the info is in Spanish BCLH 18:42, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

Edit warring

[edit]

Please note that you can be edit warring even without breaching WP:3RR (which you will do if you revert the image change now). Clearly, this change needs discussing on the talk page. (Or you could just drop it - the image is simply inappropriate for an infobox.) Rd232 talk 15:00, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I already started a discussion about the image in the Hugo Chavez article, not the CADIVI article, why is not appropriate this image for the Hugo Chavez profile? (according to you), if wikipedia commons accepted I don't know who are you to say what is appropriate or not?BCLH 15:16, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
Oh, I see, you put the new section in the wrong place, so I didn't see it. New sections go at the bottom. Also, signatures (~~~~) go at the end of a comment - see WP:Tutorial. Finally, the image being "accepted" on Commons means nothing (I'm not even sure what, besides copyright violation, gets an image booted out of Commons). The issue is what is appropriate on Wikipedia for any given page. The same image might be appropriate somewhere else, eg for Chavez' military career article (though it would need a caption to make clear what exactly the image is trying to say - another reason it's not appropriate for an infobox). Rd232 talk 15:40, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
But you have not give me a reason about why this is not a suitable image for the profile, I want to remind you that this photo is from Chavez president time, he is wearing the commander in chief uniform. So why this is not suitable and the civilian image it is?BCLH 16:02, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
I replied on the article page. Let's keep the conversation in one place. Rd232 talk 16:10, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note: unless you learn and respect Wiki policies (like WP:CONSENSUS), your editing experience at Wiki is unlikely to be productive or rewarding.[1] SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:36, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Which consensus? nobody replied about the image Operemm.jpg BCLH talk 17:38, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gert Jonke

[edit]

Hi, I saw your edits to the article on Gert Jonke. They were quite specific and uncited, especially the bit about exactly where he met his wife. I attempted to find confirmation in either english or german sources and could not. Also, even with citation, I am skeptical that his stillborn child is notable at all unless it had some notable (citations needed for this too) effect on his work, his public persona, or his personal life. Ditto with the details of his introduction to his future wife, unless the other people mentioned are notable (they apparently have no wikipedia articles) or the story has some notability itself (ie he told about it in an interview, he adapted it in his work etc). Hopefully, you can provide citations for the general facts; the more info the better. best wishes -- Jieagles (talk) 03:52, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Ramiro Helmeyer has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Page before deletion is close to being an attack page. Suggestion on BLPN was to PROD this. The key sources are in Spanish. If they can be validated as properly sourcing all the negative information, then maybe some or all of it can be brought back in. For now, until/unless that can be done, IMHO we're better off without it.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. TexasAndroid (talk) 20:41, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Ramiro Helmeyer, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ramiro Helmeyer. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Once again, welcome to Wikipedia! Netalarmtalk 22:30, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Motto of the Day Help Request April 2014

[edit]

Motto of the Day (WP:MOTD) is in a state of emergency and really needs your help! There are not enough editors who are reviewing or nominating mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review, and this probably means that you will notice a red link or “This space for rent” as our mottos for the next weeks and months.

Please take a moment to review the nominations and nominate your own new mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review and Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/'Specials. Any help would be appreciated! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 09:13, 29 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This message has been sent by pjoef on behalf of Motto of the Day to all editors of the English Wikipedia who are showing MOTD's templates on their pages, and to all the participants to MOTD: (page, template, and category).

Redirect KIPPERS

[edit]

I made the page I started, KIPPERS, a redirect - letting you know because you were one of two editors to modify it. -- Aronzak (talk) 02:56, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
