Orphaned non-free image File:United Water companyWeb logo.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:United Water companyWeb logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hugahoody (talk) 20:30, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Would you please activate the deleted article again? Kells is a first class gothic metal band in France and already touring in different countries with Tarja Turunen, Revamp and Epica just to mention a few. Lots of references can be found and two albums released up to date with very positive reviews outside France. Btw, the article already exist in French and Spanish wikipedia. Drop me a line when the article is available again and I personally will update all info shown. Regards! --Gilwellian (talk) 23:04, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Moving sections on talk pages

[edit]

Hi. I noticed you moved two sections at Talk:Domestic pig to the end of the discussion before adding your comments to them. I've not seen this done before, and I wonder why you did it? New discussions are often moved to the end, if they've been incorrectly placed at the beginning. However, older, existing discussions usually stay in their original position, and I'd have thought that moving them tends to make it more difficult to understand the order of contributions. It's also more difficult to spot your new contribution, as the whole section shows as changed, not just your bit. Regards, Richard New Forest (talk) 08:51, 28 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi, when adding citations with a PMC, please try not to enter the PMC with 'PMC' at the start of it, as here, since the PMC link then doesn't work. I've corrected that one. Thanks Rjwilmsi 13:42, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Facebook

[edit]

Hello, in Facebook the dates used to be a mixture of formats. I standardised the date format on MDY throughout, since Facebook is an American company. I see that you have now changed some of them, though not all of them, back to DMY, so the article is again inconsistent. I just wondered if you have some special reason for doing this? I personally don't really care which format is used but it ought to be consistent throughout the article, don't you agree? -- Alarics (talk) 07:08, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks for your response. -- Alarics (talk) 14:57, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"WikiProject Report" would like to focus on WikiProject Anthroponymy for a Signpost article. This is an excellent opportunity to draw attention to your efforts and attract new members to the project. Would you be willing to participate in an interview? If so, here are the questions for the interview. Hi there

I noticed you've applied WebCite to the references in this article. I'm not sure what purpose they serve. DOIs are supposed to be permanent links to the articles. The WebCite-archived material is no different from what you might find at the abstract linked by the DOI. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 07:04, 5 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

DOI links were meant to be persistent identifiers, to help isolate access to a scientific article from changes in URLs which might come from publisher corporate reorganizations or IT-driven revisions to the URL structure. They were not meant to be indicators of permanent availability of content from the original publisher. In the "What is WebCite" information at http://www.webcitation.org/ , the fact that the site was originally established as a preservation resource for scholarly material appears. In other words, publishers who might use the DOI standard were concerned about long term preservation and, therefore, established WebCite as a resource to ensure permanent availability. DOI and WebCite are not mutually exclusive or at odds, but rather serve different purposes. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 00:51, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for getting back. I see your point. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 12:34, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings Ceyockey,

Since there is a Wiki Project Delaware rating box on the Thomas Macdonough talk page I thought it best to come here about an issue with that biography. I am in the process of rewriting the page. A couple of months or so ago I discovered that the entire article then was a cut and paste job, lifted from the Delaware Military History web site and was tagged for lacking citations. -- Now that the article is almost completely rewritten and greatly expanded, I would like to move the name 'Thomas MacDonough', spelled with an Upper-case 'D', to a spelling that uses Lower-case 'd' i.e. 'Thomas Macdonough'. This is the spelling used throughout the article. Since all the reliable sources used in the article, new and old, spell the name as 'Macdonough', I think the page name should also be spelled this way. I attempted to make the move myself but in this case it requires an administrator. If such a spelling is agreeable could you do this? Also, the page currently has a 'Start' rating from the Delaware project. At this point the article is nearing completion so the project may want to update the rating. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Gwillhickers (talk) 22:32, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

List of fictional characters ... pending deletion

[edit]

Hello,

You may be interested in the discussion regarding deleting a list article regarding fictional Carpenters. You have in the past created a List of surname Brown. I created a list of real and fictional Carpenter because other editors/admins told me to do so from the Carpenter surname page. Now others want to delete it. I was happy with the way it was and would be happy to merge the fictional Carpenters with the list of surname Carpenters. Any input, pro or con would be welcome.

See: List_of_fictional_characters_with_surname_Carpenter

Jrcrin001 (talk) 22:51, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

follow up:

Last year you provided input on the Talk:Carpenter (surname) page. And two lists were split off of real and fictional people. While I was on a wiki break the List of fictional characters with surname Carpenter was deleted without discussion. Later I requested the person to restore it. The page was then immediately cited as an article for deletiion.

Again, any input pro or con would be welcome on the deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of fictional characters with surname Carpenter

Thank you. Jrcrin001 (talk) 20:03, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
